Casino Royale

This is a new kind of Bond movie. The old bond sequences had comic book action and fighting sequences. Sean Connery in the old Bond movies was an interesting characer to watch even though the action sequences look kind of fake.

Daniel Craig does an excellent job as the new Bond. An interesting character as well. What I like about him, other than the fact that comes across as a "real" guy, is that his fighting sequences are pretty realistic. I've been practicing hand to hand combat for long time and it is joy to watch a movie where someone has actual combat capabilities. The hand to hand fighting sequences were well done. The chase and other action sequences may be a little exaggerated but that's expected of a Bond movie. :) There is plenty of action in the movie though also a number of slow sequences as well. The Poker scene where they were playing for $120 million was a little bit boring but I find "gambling" to be boring, especially Poker, even though I know how to play. I don't find the female lead to be attractive but lately I don't find most female leads to be attractive other than Angelina Jolie. :)

Overall I give the movie 3 out of 4 stars for intense action sequences with excellent hand to hand combat scenes.

Daughter

I've been spending a lot of time with my daughter lately. She is truly a joy to have around. It is a little tough though to start a new job, living in a new city, and waking up in the middle of the night when she cries to take care of her. It is normal to have some loss of sleep during this time. :) She is worth it though. Her beautiful smile just says so much!
