Movies I enjoy ...
The Long Kiss Goodnight. Great action movie. Has a female lead.
The Hunted. Highly realistic hand to hand combat scenes. It is the remake of the Rambo story with an expert on Urban Warfare. Bernicio del Toro Rocks!
Man on Fire. Don't get me pissed or this will happen to you. Just kidding. ha ha. Denzel was just bad in this movie. "Tell me about this man" "His Art is Death and he is about to paint his masterpiece." Shows how a skilled assassin can take down an empire.
First Blood. This is the original Rambo movie.
Kill Bill Vol.1. Uma Thurman rocks.
Dirty Ho. One of the great kung fu movies. A lot of the movie is comedy.
Executioners from Shaolin. One of the great kung movies on pressure point fighting and iron skin kung fu along with tantric energy in fighting application.
Heroes of the East. Gordon Liu shows the different styles of kung fu. A good portion of the movie is comedy with the wife and husband arguing about their unresolved personal differences.
Prodigal Son. Really good wing chun kung fu and tai chi. Lam Ching Ying is the key fighter in this movie. He is the same person who helped Bruce Lee develop with many of the fight scenes in his movies. This is soft kung fu.
Once Upon a Time in China Part II. The aerial fight scenes in this movie are beautiful. I liked the aerial fight scene between Jet Li and the Clan Master. Also the fight scenes between Donnie Yen and Jet Li are legendary. The aerial fight scenes are not realistic but beautiful to watch.
Iron Monkey. A few good fight scenes with Donnie Yen but most of the movie is pretty fake.
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. What it takes to be a master. Training of hard kung fu.
Drunken Tai Chi. Though Donnie Yen's tai chi was not very good at this time, the movie demonstrates excellent Tai Chi fighting principles.
Chinatown Kid. How a kung fu kid made it to the top in the drug/mafia world and then decided it against it. I can't comment on the fight scenes since I haven't seen it since childhood however the storyline is very dramatic. Makes you want to cry almost. It is a rags to riches movie. Alexander Fu Sheng shot to stardom after this movie came out.
