Watch out for this crook
Michael McLane took $3,500 from me for divorce proceedings but did absolutely nothing. Watch out for this crook. I am filing charges against him with the state bar. Have him disciplined, possibly remove his license. I already filed a complaint with the legal referring agency that recommended him.
He keeps on demanding more money, and he does this a few days before the court date, even though I handed him the case 2-3 months in advance, he waits to the last minute and says he needs another $3,500 do to show up in court. He gave no warnings. He said he didn't know how much it would cost or what will happen next in court. This is totally contradictory to what he said when I hired him. He said he could handle the complete case for $3,000-$4,000 and I hired him because he looked like he was out of work and needed a job (even though he didn't admit), I could tell by his mannerisms. I felt sorry for him and gave him a chance. I usually like to give the underdog a chance. He ended up screwing me over.
I ended up firing him and got an attorney that was honest with his client.
